| Lions QB Daunte Culpepper has a good chance at opening next season as the teams starter, even if the teams front office and coaching staff are hanging in the balance. With Dan Orlovsky set to hit free agency, he might choose to jump ship, and there is not enough confidence in Drew Stanton right now to start him for a winless team, so no matter who is coaching this team, Culpepper could turn out to be the most attractive option as things stand now. | no it would be great news next season is another throw away year anyway if we did keep him it would mean we dont take a QB high in the draft and there is no one to go and throw money at in FA it would be a good move by the lions we ahve to many other needs before we get a fran QB becuase behind are line even Manning would look like a school girl

| I think sticking with Culpepper is the right move, go elsewhere in a draft not stocked with QB talent. Culpepper may never reach his early career form again but if he can get somewhere close, the Lions will be ok.

| If Culpepper is the best option at QB going into 2009, then Lions fans can expect yet another awful year next season.

| Didn't they draft a QB in this years draft? Why not let someone young try at least.

| Haven't they being down that road before. C-pep is only in his early 30's, he has talent and experience and he's a better option that the QB you can't spell without i-n-t (Jon Kitna in case you hadn't figured it out). Let there young QB's develop. I guess it will all depend on what happens in the FO and with the coaching staff in the off-season though.
