[Lions] Lions To Start OT Gosder Cherilus This Week?

The Lions apparently are planning on starting rookie Gosder Cherilus at right tackle Sunday against Washington, after igniting a minor firestorm last week by going with veteran George Foster vs. Houston. “I think they want to see Gosder play, the organization,” Foster said today. “He’s probably going to get the start, from what I can tell.” Coach Rod Marinelli has declined to discuss lineup changes in recent weeks and stuck to that today when asked about Cherilus. But he did indicate Cherilus was doing what he needed to do to reclaim his starting spot. “He’s in the mix every week, and he’s going to work hard at it,” Marinelli said. “I like how he is responding.”
