[Dolphins] Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown Sheds Soft Cast From Thumb

Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown has shed the soft cast on his thumb at practice, the Palm Beach Post reports. On paper, Brown (who is also bouncing back from knee surgery) has fallen behind Ricky Williams on the depth chart, but coach Sparano said he is not ready to name Williams the team’s Week 1 starter. “I need to see more of Ronnie before I make that decision,” Sparano said. “If I don’t see a whole lot more Ronnie, then Ricky will start.” Sparano said he would like to play Brown against the Saints in Thursday’s preseason finale if the team’s doctors clear him.
