| Wide receiver Bob Hayes (Cowboys 1965-74, 49ers 1975).and defensive end Claude Humphrey (Falcons 1968-78, Eagles 1979-81) on Wednesday were selected by the Pro Football Hall of Fame seniors committee as finalists for election to the Class of 2009. Hayes and Humphrey will join 15 yet-to-be determined modern-era candidates on the list of finalists from which the Class of 2009 will be selected. Hayes was the seniors committee’s candidate in 2004 while Humphrey was a modern-era finalist in 2003, 2005 and 2006. Source: Associated Press

| He was a great player. He was so fast, one defender couldn't cover him one-on-one. Opposing teams had to use at least two guys to cover him. He changed the way the game was played forever.

| Bob Hayes is long overdue the Hall. Any player that actually changes the way the game is played with his dominance should be in Canton.
