[Colts] Colts C Jeff Saturday Might Have A Serious Injury

Colts center Jeff Saturday suffered a knee injury during the team’s preseason game Sunday, and although no definitive word has come out about the extent of the injury, Saturday’s coach, quarterback and agent are all talking like he could miss significant time. “It could be the type of thing where he could be back next week or it could be something major if he needs surgery, and we don’t know right now,” Colts coach Tony Dungy said, per the Indianapolis Star. Even QB Peyton Manning didn’t sound optimistic that Saturday would return any time soon, either. “Certainly my prayers are with Jeff and you have your fingers crossed,” Manning said. “It’s pretty well-documented how I feel about him, how the team feels about him and how important he is to this team and this offense.”

This would be a huge loss for the Colts if Saturday misses anytime. They would be losing a pro bowl center.

He is one of the nicest guys!! He is at so many fundraising events in Indianapolis and has even earned a major award from the state for his charity work. Very approachable. My daughter's grade school class a few year's ago won a pizza party with a Colt. It was Jeff that showed up! She is a fan for life! Hopefully it is the "type of thing where he could be back next week."
