Browns [Browns] Browns Reviewing Kenny Wright Situation

Browns CB Kenny Wright was released from jail in Pearland, Texas Friday night on $5,000 bond after leading police on a footchase Thursday morning and getting caught with marijuana in his car. Browns spokesman Bill Bonsiewicz said the Browns "are withholding comment on the situation until we can gather more information." Wright faces a possible suspension or fine from the NFL under the personal conduct policy, depending on the outcome of the case. Question is, will the Browns stand by a player who barely played for them last year in the first year of his three-year contract? He's set to make $730,000 in 2008 and $845,000 in 2009. Wright, a 10-year NFL veteran, played in seven games last season, was inactive for seven others and didn't play in two games for which he dressed. He made three tackles on defense and three on special teams. Wright was also signed in part because of ties to his former Texans coach Todd Grantham, who was fired as Browns defensive coordinator after the season. The Browns have little tolerance for off-the-field misconduct and pride themselves on running a clean program. If Wright is found guilty, the Browns will have to decide if he's worth it or not. As of Friday, they were conducting their own investigation.
