[Ravens] Ravens' Gerome Sapp Charged With Assaulting Ex-Teammate

Former Ravens long snapper Joe Maese has filed assault charges against current Ravens safety Gerome Sapp. The incident allegedly occurred on December 29, which is the same day on which Sapp was placed on injured reserve. Sapp is charged with second degree assault, and a trial has been set for February 8. The fifth-year defensive back from Notre Dame spent 2003 with the Ravens, and 2004 and 2005 with the Colts. He returned to Baltimore in 2006. Maese played for the Ravens from 2001 through 2004. He appeared in three games for the Lions in 2005.
