With 17 seconds left in the Super Bowl, and the Patriots at their own 44-yard line, the Giants had 12 defensive players on the field. A Tom Brady pass was thrown incomplete and a penalty was called for too many men on the field and the Giants were penalized 5 yards but time went off the clock. The NFL Competition Committee will consider a change on rule regarding 12-men on field at the end of game situations to prevent teams from burning clock artificially according to Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports.
