Seahawks QB Tarvaris Jackson, who had a middling debut year in Seattle in 2011 (7-7, 3,091 yards, 14 TDs, 13 INTs), has one year left on his contract. Backup Charlie Whitehurst has none and is headed for free agency. So surely the Emerald City should be a logical option for Colts QB Peyton Manning if he leaves Indianapolis, right? After all, the Seahawks are quietly building a strong foundation while focusing on defense and the O-line, facets that appeal to veteran quarterbacks. But hold your horses, ‘Hawks fans. “I just know if you panic at the position, it can set the organization back. So we’re not going to do that,” GM John Schneider told the team’s website last week. “That may disappoint fans, because they want to see an instant guy and have that instant success. … But really, you’re better off continuing to build your team.”
