Broncos FS Brian Dawkins Not Expected To Test Market, May Retire

One of the most pressing issues facing the Broncos this offseason is whether they will need a linebacker to replace nine-time Pro Bowler Brian Dawkins. Mike Klis of the Denver Post does not see Dawkins testing the free agent market. If he receives medical clearance to play after the neck injury that kept him out of the Broncos' two playoff games, he may return to the Broncos for one more year. Dawkins, who turns 39 in October, may instead opt for retirement. "Obviously he's been a great player in his career and for us,"head coach John Fox said. "Both of us need time."

Come Home Dawk. Sign the 1 day, hold up the midnight green and say goodbye. It's time to call it a career and become a member of our coaching staff. Learn under Bowles, be the defensive quality control guy and start it all here. We miss you buddy.

i have zero doubt the eagles will do the right thing with dawk. the linc will be overrun by dawk jerseys that day. i can imagine the emotion he will show from the fan support. it will be electric. i'll be sure to video it.

This^^. The fans in Philly would make him feel as though he never left. I would expect the same for Tony Gonzales when he retires.......as a Chief.

yep, both guys were obviously one of the best ever for both franchises. i'd go as far as to say dawk was easily the most popular eagles player of all time.

i have never, ever seen an opposing player get a standing O during the intro's in all my years of going to games like dawk did. mcnabb actually got one as well but no where near like dawk did.

Dawkins remains my favorite Eagle to this day.

Wish it all went down a little differently a few years ago. I put it on both Dawk and the Eagles FO for not finding a way to make it work.

Anyway, when it is time to hang em up he'll be wearing green and silver.

the eagles aboslutely hold most if not all of the blame but it doesn't matter at this point. they have a way of dealing with vets over 30 and they arent going to change.
