Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that the Packers will most likely be parting ways with C Scott Wells. McGinn mentions that the organization has been “low-balling” Wells with their recent offers which could leave the two sides in a fairly contentious situation. Wells, 31, is coming off of his first Pro Bowl appearance and has put together three straight solid seasons for the Packers. It was assumed that the Packers had Wells as their #2 priority for the offseason behind TE Jermichael Finley but they appear unwilling to match Wells’ asking price. If he ends up hitting the free agent market, Wells will find plenty of interest but the fact that there are a number of quality options available at the position should decrease his chances of landing a deal in his desired price range.
