Cardinals Still Haven’t Addressed OT Levi Brown’s $14.5M Contract

The Arizona Cardinals will have to address OT Levi Brown‘s 2012 contract before his $6 million roster bonus is due on March 13th. The former first-round selection has been largely disappointing and his $14.5 million contract (includes the before-mentioned $6 million roster bonus) for the upcoming season is hardly justifiable. Interestingly enough, Pompei reports that the Cardinals have, so far, not made any attempts to negotiate his contract. Earlier reports have mentioned that the team would like to keep in around rather than release him to clear cap space but it’s hard to see them paying him that kind of money. Expect them to begin negotiations in the coming weeks or possibly even during the upcoming Scouting Combine next week.

Probably one of the worst LT's in the NFL, but he isn't going anywhere any time soon. The top 25 or so LT's in the league are under contract and they'll be nobody worth considering at pick #13. That said, the Card's aren't going to pay him what he wants. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get his roster bonus and then almost a league minimum. Otherwise, Levi gets cut and gets nothing here or anywhere else.

well, if they're going to keep him, they better start restructuring quickly ........... if this story is true and the cards have made no attempts to restructure, that tells me that maybe they're just going to dump the guy.

Personally, I hope they do. I just think they have no alternative but to present a 'take it or leave it' offer, even at the 11th hour. If he accepts he gets his roster bonus and a job. If not, the Cards just cleared some cap room and will probably draft a LT.
