| Colts Owner Jim Irsay Says He's Started Talks With QB Peyton Manning | | | Colts owner Jim Irsay told the media in Indianapolis that he and Peyton Manning have begun to talk about the quarterback's future. Manning is due for a $28 million roster bonus on March 8 but didn't play last year after undergoing what is now reported to be four surgeries on his neck including a fusion procedure. His neck has been cleared by his doctors, not by Colts trainers, and there is rampant speculation that his arm is not what it once was because regeneration of nerves in there haven't happened yet following the surgical procedures. "Peyton and I have talked and said that certainly by that date or sooner, we'd like to just come to something that makes sense for both of us," Irsay said. "It's a difficult thing, because sometimes circumstances are thrown at you. You take your hands out of the deck that you're dealt and you deal with them. ... I think we both understand each other's issues." Source: CBS Sports
