Pat Yasinskas of ESPN.com writes that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could consider releasing TE Kellen Winslow and adds that such a move wouldn’t count against their cap best of the unique contract that Winslow singed with Buc’s upon being traded. Lets just point out that the Buc’s are one of the few teams that isn’t in need of extra cap space considering that they’re currently sitting with $68 million to spend. The move instead would be based on Winslow’s declining production. You could make the argument that no one on the team’s offense was going to look good on the stat sheets following their miserable 2011 season but Winslow declining production mixed with the fact that he’ll be 29 next month doesn’t bode well for his future in Tampa.

um, if this is true, this would be stupid. he didn't have a good year but no one on the bucs did. and cutting a guy who is still in his 20's because you think he's getting old?

i think maybe the writer of this rumor is grasping at straws.
