| Mike Munchak Says Titans Won’t Use First-Rounder On O-Line | | | After producing the second-worst running game in the league in 2011, the Titans have said there’s a good chance they’ll take an offensive lineman in one of the early rounds of this year’s draft. But if you’re thinking they might go as far as to use their first-round pick – No. 20 overall — to help bolster the offensive line, think again. When Titans Coach Mike Munchak spoke to earlier John Glennon of The Tennessean this week, he said the second round was probably as high as the team would go in search of an offensive lineman. That’s because the Titans are more interested in interior linemen – guards and centers – than they are in tackles. “I don’t think we’d take an offensive lineman with the first-rounder this year because usually it’s a tackle if you (pick an offensive lineman in the first round) – unless you have a really special center or guard,” Munchak said. “But for us, we’re not really in the tackle market right now. We just signed Mike Otto back, and we’re happy with Mike (Roos) and Dave (Stewart). We’re pretty solid there, so I don’t think there’s much of a chance of that happening. But from then on, you leave all options open.” Source: The Tennessean
