Lions Say RB's Jahvid Best, Mikel Leshoure 'Are Healing Well'

Lions running backs Jahvid Best and Mikel Leshoure are both on track to participate in the team's offseason program after season-ending injuries in 2011. Best was placed on season-ending injured reserve in November after he couldn't shake the lingering effects from a concussion he sustained Oct. 16 against the San Francisco 49ers. Leshoure, the team's second-round pick who was expected to compliment Best, missed the entire season after tearing his Achilles' tendon during training camp. Lions president Tom Lewand told a group of the team's season ticket holders during a teleconference Tuesday, according to The Detroit News, that the two young running backs are healing well. "Both are tracking on a pace to be ready for offseason drills," Lewand said. He did go on to caution that the Lions wouldn't stop looking at options at running back. "We can't put all of our eggs in the basket of guys coming off injury," he added.

don't really see LeShoure will contribute anything this season. Probably gonna take him another year to get back to where he was before the injury, if he can even get back to that level. That injury is hard for a running back to come back from.
