Will Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Bid For 50th Super Bowl? 'Absolutely'

Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News reports Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was asked recently if he would make a bid for the 50th Super Bowl and responded, “absolutely,” according to Daniel Kaplan of the Sports Business Journal. With the next three games already scheduled, Kaplan says bids for the game in 2016 would have to be submitted by April because the NFL usually announces the next unawarded site during its May meeting. And since the next three venues have already been announced [New Orleans, New York/New Jersey and Arizona] No. 50 should be determined in the next few months. Pros for Dallas getting the nod: “Huge Cowboys Stadium offers great financial reward to the NFL, it's a major market, and hey, the weather can't be as bad as it when hosting last year- can it?” The cons: “The NFL is still feeling the effects of the 2011 fiasco, with a federal lawsuit pending against the team and league for seating problems. The region also would have to prove it can be better prepared for weather emergencies.”

I read an article not long ago in the Dallas Morning News that said the 50th Super Bowl would be in either NY or Miami, not Arlington. It probably is a matter of when, not if. Jerry World offers more seats than any stadium, and the D-FW area offers more hotel rooms than other cities that have held the SB, like Tampa, Indy, or NO.

I don't think Goodell will risk another huge fuck up like the first SB in jerry world. Especially for something like Superbowl 50.

The article I read said that the SB would more than likely return to Arlington in the next 5-8 years.

Maybe this time he'll be able to have a seat for every ticket sold.
