Karl Dunbar is in place as the Jets' new defensive line coach, a person with knowledge of the move confirmed according to Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger, while Mark Carrier, who previously held the role, has been hired as the Cincinnati Bengals' new defensive backs coach, the Bengals announced today. Dunbar interviewed with the Jets last month, and the team was very interested in bringing him on board. He spent the past six years as the Vikings' defensive line coach, working with standouts like Jared Allen, Kevin Williams and Pat Williams. He was fired from coach Leslie Frazier's staff after this past season.
