A two-time All-Pro safety who spent ten seasons with the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans before returning as an assistant secondary coach in 2007, Robertson spent 19 seasons with the organization prior to his dismissal after the 2011 season. Robertson coached on the same Titans staff as Lions head coach Jim Schwartz, who was the Titans defensive coordinator from 2001-08. The addition of Robertson may also ramp up the talk that the Lions will be hot on the trail of cornerback Cortland Finnegan, who is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent in March and does not believe that the Titans plan to bring him back.
