Robert Griffin III Says He's The 'Best Quarterback' In The Nation

In a recent interview with SI.com, Baylor QB Robert Griffin III said he's the best quarterback in the nation. Griffin told SI.com's Don Banks: "I hate to talk about myself like that, but if I had to straight up tell a head coach or an owner why they should take me, it's because I'm the best in everything I've done. I'm the most accurate. I have the strongest arm. I may not be the tallest, I may not be the heaviest. But I'm the best quarterback in the nation, and if they pass on me, then I understand. But I'm going to go out and be the best quarterback for somebody else." The momentum does seem like it's headed Griffin's way. By the time the draft rolls around, some teams are likely to have him rated higher on the draft board than Luck, who has been described as the best passing prospect since Peyton Manning, and was considered an eventual No. 1 overall pick for his last two seasons at Stanford.

What do you want him to say? "yeah I'm okay but that Luck kid is better than I am!" Seriously. He's selling himself. Right now I'd say he's better than Luck but with Luck you basically know what you're going to get overall. RGIII is still a bit of a mystery.

Sorry but this it the problem with kids coming out of College. All mouth. Most have watched Chad and TO run their mouths and such to a point they think talking can make them a better player. If you want to impress coaches and teams do it on the field and shut your mouth. A little humility goes a long way.

Don't expect him to say much. Shut up and put up. Stop yelling people how good you are and show it in the nfl

yes, he obviously needs to be confident, the danger comes when he is OVERconfident, which may give us some red flags

We don't want him to be so overconfident that he doesn't come into the league with the sincere realization that it is a huge step from college qb to nfl qb and he still has a LOT of work to do.

We don't want another Jamarcus Russell or Todd Marinovich.

nothing wrong with what he said.

on top of that hes actually intelligent and well spoken, its not like chris johnson saying "im da bestest runin back i da world i lyke ta carry da foot ball and runz wit it cuz i can runz fasta dan any1 in da hole wurld"
Buck Fenson and Jihad Joe like this.
