Packers WR Donald Driver Willing To Take A Pay Cut To Remain In Green Bay

Donald Driver is willing to take a pay cut to stay with the team, the Packers receiver told reporters at the 38th annual Three Harbors Council Boy Scouts Leadership Breakfast in Milwaukee. “The organization knows what I’ve done on and off the field, and they want to keep me around as long as possible,” Driver told WISN TV. “If that means sitting down and taking pay cuts to stay around, then you take pay cuts to stay around. I’ve always said it’s not about the money for me anymore. What I’m pushing for is for my legacy to stay around in the state of Wisconsin and around the world forever. So the money’s not a big issue.” Driver, who just turned 37, finished his 13th season in Green and Gold with 37 receptions, 445 yards and six touchdowns. The catches and yardage were his lowest since the 2001 season. He’s scheduled to earn a $2.6 million salary in 2012 and a $2.2 million roster bonus in March. It’s hard to believe the team would bring Driver back with him counting $5 million against the salary cap.

With the talent, we have on receivers, I don't think we gonna keep him around much longer. Maybe his paycut will help him this year. Being a great mentor, he should consider going into coaching and stay in GB this way

He was the only consistent pass catcher that Rodgers had to throw to when it came to not dropping passes vs the Giants.
