New York Giants tight end Jake Ballard suffered a torn ACL during Super Bowl XLVI, the Giants announced. Ballard suffered the injury during the game, but attempted to return. NBC cameras showed Ballard attempting to run and cut on the sidelines before he crumpled to the Lucas Oil Stadium turf. Signed by the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State in 2010, Ballard started 13 of 14 games in 2011, catching 38 passes for 604 yards and four touchdowns this season. Ballard is not signed for 2012, but is "exclusive rights" free agent. Suffering a torn ACL in February likely means Ballard will not be ready for the start of the season.

I knew this was what happened when he was trying to make a cut on the sideline
