Alabama CB Dre Kirkpatrick Cleared Of Marijuana Possession Charges

According to a Twitter post from Liz Mullen of SportsBusiness Journal, top 2012 NFL Draft prospect Dre Kirkpatrick had charges of marijuana possession dismissed. Kirkpatrick was arrested five days after declaring for the 2012 NFL Draft, along with former Crimson Tide DB Chris Rogers. The pair of former Alabama players was taken in for the possession of 7.9 grams (0.28 ounces) of marijauna, according to the incident report cited by Alabama Local News, Breaking News, Sports & Weather - al.com. Rogers admitted to purchasing the marijuana in the incident report, while Kirkpatrick admitted to being in the vehicle when the purchase was made but said he did not know at the time that Rogers was purchasing drugs. Both men were under the influence at the time of arrest, according to the incident report.
