| Super Bowl XLVI Breaks Record For Largest American TV Audience | | | The Super Bowl does fantastic TV numbers every year, of course, but never better than when two of America’s biggest media markets, New York and Boston, meet at the end of the all the marbles. For proof, check out this tweet from ESPN’s Adam Schefter: "Super Bowl XLVI reached a total audience of 166.8 million viewers, making it most-watched show in U.S. TV history according to Nielsen." A Bloomberg report gave a few details this afternoon: Super Bowl XLVI was seen by 111.3 million people, just barely edging out the record of 111 million set by the Green Bay Packers’ win over the Pittsburgh Steelers last year. This is the seventh consecutive year that the Super Bowl has overtaken its own record. Source: Sports Illustrated
