Super Bowl XLVI Draws The Fifth-Smallest Attendance Ever

The sellout crowd of 68,658 at Super Bowl XLVI is the fifth-smallest in the history of the game. The smallest was for the first, when 61,946 turned out at the Los Angeles Coliseum to watch the NFL champion Packers rout the AFL champion Chiefs, 35-10.

Well, when the cheapest ticket is like 700 bucks and it's in Indy(no offense), you're not going to draw a very large crowd. Not worth the price of admission when fans in New York and the New England area can't afford to shell out $$$ for a Super Bowl. Make the tickets reasonable and the attendance will go up again.

Think the issue is more about the capacity of the stadium more than anything.

Then that's on the NFL for holding it there.

What a ridiculous title to an article. The assumption would be the game itself failed to draw a large crowd. It was a sellout for Christ's sake. Duke is correct....it's on the NFL for holding it there if attendance was the barometer for success. It's the second smallest venue in the entire NFL.
