Roger Goodell Says 34 Teams Likely In NFL If They Put A Team In Los Angeles

Commissioner Roger Goodell says if the NFL puts a team in Los Angeles, it is probable the league would expand to 34 franchises. Appearing Thursday night on "Costas Live" on NBC Sports Network, Goodell said the league "doesn't want to move any of our teams." He said if a suitable stadium is built in the Los Angeles area, "we probably don't want to go to 33" teams by adding just one new club. Instead, the league would consider adding two. An odd number of teams would pose scheduling problems.

whatever asshole, the product is already watered down. you need to move the jaguars to l.a. not crerate another franchise and then find another crap team with no real fanbase and boot them too.

34 teams would also destroy the division set up they currently have, which seems to be working. Just stick with 32, move the fucking Jags, and be done with it.

Great...two teams initially created with players that NFL teams currently don't want and then the dilution in the quality of the entire NFL. I just wonder if Roger had really thought that through before the interview or if he was asked the question while severely constipated.

just more of a money grab for the nfl. if a team moves to l.a. the league doesnt get more money. but yeah it makes more sense to have a team in a city that doesnt give two fucks about it then put it in the 2nd largest market in the country so the league can get more franchise money.

I hope the NFL doesn't expand. The league has too many teams as it is.

They are already talking about expanding the regular season... I don't know how they add 2 teams that would make 2 divisions have extra teams...

sounds like The Rams, 49ers and the Vikings are getting their stadiums... The only other teams I have heard in the mix are the Jags, Chargers and Raiders...

This seems to be the biggest issue, IMO.
