Jaguars owner Shahid Khan said if he owned the team the at the time of the draft two years ago the Jaguars definitely would have selected Tim Tebow. "100 percent I would have," Khan, who purchased the team for a reported $760 million in January, told WOKV in a recent interview. "Absolutely." The Jaguars used the No. 10 pick to select Cal defensive tackle Tyson Alualu but would have traded for a pick later in the first round to get Tebow, according to a story by Florida Times-Union reporter Gene Frenette. As a local high school standout, then college star at Florida, where he played on two national championship teams, Tebow almost certainly would have caused a stir in the Jags fan base and probably expanded it as well. But while Tebow led the Broncos into the second round of the playoffs with a stunning upset of the Steelers, the Jaguars didn't make the postseason and dealt with near local TV blackouts due to lagging ticket sales.

from an owners of a struggling franchises business point of view drafting tebow would have been a brilliant move. we make jesus jokes about tebow, but in jacksonville its not joke...hes legit jesus
