The Indianapolis Colts have hired Greg Manusky to coordinate their defense, Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com reports. Manusky, 45, was the San Diego Chargers defensive coordinator in 2010. Under Manusky, the Chargers ranked 16th in total defense, 20th against the run, 13th against the pass and created 21 takeaways. The Chargers fired Manusky on January 5 and replaced him with John Pagano, the brother of Colts head coach Chuck Pagano. A former NFL linebacker with the Washington Redskins, Minnesota Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs, Manusky coached linebackers with the Redskins and Chargers before spending four seasons (2007-10) as the San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator.
