Eagles QB Michael Vick To Work With Andy Reid On Cutting Down Turnovers

Speaking with the media Tuesday, Eagles head coach Andy Reid said that he's been in contact with QB Michael Vick and plans on working with him to cut down on his turnovers as well as improve his coordination with his receivers. He cited his success throwing to tight end Brent Celek as proof that Vick can improve and hopes he does dedicate himself to his craft this offseason. Reid added that he thinks Vick won't change his style of play but will be smarter about what he does when he runs with the football. "You look at the last four teams that are playing in the playoffs and all four quarterbacks didn't miss a start. So he's aware of that and he understands how important he is to this football team when he's healthy," Reid said. "... So you limit your contact points that he had. And I think that he was able to see that this year. Now does that mean that he's never going to run the ball again? No. I would tell you that I'm sure he's going to run the ball. But when you do that, is there a time to get out of bounds and a time to get down? Absolutely, so that you live to play the next play."

well, vick still played pretty well but vick himself admitted that when he was a falcon, his play got sloppy and he would make more turnovers when he got comfortable and wasn't as motivated and focused.

Vick got a huge contract right before the season started .............. I honestly believe there are certain guys that, for their own good, shouldn't get huge long-term contracts .................. some guys need that carrot every year to stay focused and motivated

i just think vick is what he is. always an athlete first and qb second. that will always lead to his problems with turnovers and injuries. the guy doesnt even see it IMO. when he makes the comment when asked about taking too many hits, "hey man i've always gotten hit i just keep getting up and playing. i dont let let it keep me out of games"

huh ? dude you played one damn full season.
