Eagles, DeSean Jackson Drastically Differ On WR's Worth

Paul Domowitch of the Philadelphia Daily News writes that league sources have informed him that DeSean Jackson‘s “opinion of his worth continues to be night-and-day different from the Eagles.” Eagles’ owner Jeffery Lurie mentioned that they would be interested in keeping Jackson ”if the right terms develop” but Jackson’s asking price appears to be out of the Eagles price range at this point. DeSean has said that he’s open to being franchised but that move carries a $9.5 million price tag and Eagles could certainly use that money elsewhere. Jackson has proven to be a great weapon when properly motivated but the question marks that currently surround him will most likely limit the amount of money he’ll make during free agency.

Of course he's open to the tag. That $9.5M is well above what he is worth.

In 2010 he'd of been worth the 9.5. In 2011 he's worth dick. He's shown that he can be lazy and if he's off he's a COMPLETE non-factor. NO team will give him what he wants and at this point I'd hate to see him go but fuck him. Let him walk.

His value has always been tough to measure. Without question he opens things up for others. To what monetary extent, I'm not sure.

people need to get off the top five point, of course a player is going to ask for the world & the team is going to offer shit, it's called negociations but finding that place in the middle is what you have to do, this is his one chance for a payday. this whole situation is on the eagles in the way they handled things. this kid could've been signed but the eagles as usual played hardball and it blew up in their faces.

they better find someone to take his place or this offense is going to suffer.

Wow. They had the chance when? When they were signing a pro-bowl defensive end and a top 10 DB? Or locking up a QB? No offense but the Eagles told Desean that they'd take care of him but had higher priorities at the moment and he'd be their top deal this off season but he went and held out and made it about him and not the team. Fuck the bitch, let him walk. And the Eagles aren't going to be worst for the ware without him. They won with Charles Johnson and Torrance Small as their primary WR's and at that time they didn't have weapons like Shady, Celek and Maclin. Not to mention an O-Line that has potential to be out of this world. I think with or without Jackson this offense will still press on.
