He or Sherman would be acceptable hires, experience is key because Shurmur flat out doesn't have it yet. With such a green head coach, they were very smart to get Jauron last year and look what happened: a top 10 D with a completely new system when experts said they straight up didn't have the personnel for yet.
Childress could get that offense firing, and if they fill some holes well like they did last draft, I see no reason the Browns can't match what the Bengals threw together this season. Let's remember Cleveland went from maybe the oldest team in the league under Mangini to the youngest in the NFL, put in new offense and defense, and did it all in the worst offseason ever with no TC. It's been forever since the team had a foundation making such solid decisions. |
