The St. Louis Rams have hired Dave McGinnis to be the team's assistant head coach, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. McGinnis, 60, has spent the last eight seasons with the Tennessee Titans, coaching the team's linebackers while also carrying the title of assistant head coach under both Jeff Fisher, who is now the Rams head coach, and Mike Munchak. Before joining the Titans, McGinnis coached for the Arizona Cardinals from 1996-2003, first as the defensive coordinator before being named head coach midway through the 2000 season. The Cardinals went 17-40 in three and a half season and he was fired after back-to-back last place finishes in the revamped NFC West.
