League Explains Why Ravens QB Joe Flacco's Pass To Lee Evans Wasn't Reviewed

Billy Cundiff is renting space under the microscope after his botched 32-yard field-goal atttempt at the end of Sunday's AFC Championship Game left the Ravens at the alter, but Baltimore fans are up in arms about another missed opportunity on that fateful, final drive. With his Ravens trailing 23-20, wide receiver Lee Evans clutched quarterback Joe Flacco's second-down pass in the right corner of the end zone with 22 seconds left. Patriots defensive back Sterling Moore knocked the ball away, a close call that sent shock waves across Twitter, with Ravens fans questioning why the call wasn't reviewed by game officials. Michael Signora, NFL vice president of football communications, offered an explanation to NFL.com and NFL Network. "The ruling on the field of an incomplete pass was confirmed by the Instant Replay assistant, correctly, and as a result, there was no need to stop the game," Signora wrote. "... The receiver did not get his second foot down in the end zone with possession, and as a result, it was an incomplete pass."

I said it when the "review rule" was created. It was a bogus rule because it only covered half of the story. You can't have a rule in place that only covers half of the plays...it's silly to say the least.

At the very least, this play should've been reviewed...regardless.

I never thought it should of been reviewed. But even after rewatching it, he never even got two feet down.

The rule should allow for it to be reviewed. But as it stands now, it shouldn't have been reviewed. Hopefully they amend the rule in the offseason.

Didn't this happen in a Lions game? I think titus Young came down with two feet down and the ref said it was incomplete but the Lions were out of Challenges and they wouldn't review the TD because the ref said it was incomplete? Is this kinda the same thing? I hate the fucking refs.
