Marty Mornhinweg Interviews For Raiders’ Head Coaching Job

Marty Mornhinweg hasn’t been an NFL head coach in the last decade, but he may be back in the game now. Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the Eagles’ offensive coordinator interviewed with the Raiders yesterday for their head coaching vacancy. Mornhinweg traveled to Oakland for the interview and left without being hired. The 49-year-old journeyman coach is in the running for the position, but the Raiders have interviewed several other candidates including Dolphins interim head coach Todd Bowles. There was speculation that Mornhinweg would make a run at the opening in Indianapolis, but the Eagles have yet to receive a request from Mornhinweg for permission to talk to the Colts.

The dude ran one of the top offense in the NFL last year and has taken the Eagles offense and made it something potent. Stop judging this guy by his time with the Lions. Bellichek started out AWFUL and look where he is now. Give the man a chance, holy shit.

This doesn't make sense. There are a lot of good coaches and teams every year that aren't in the Super Bowl.

I think Morhinweg would do better in Indy. Let the Raiders hire someone like a Juan Castillo.
