Jets Coach Rex Ryan To Tone Down His Act In 2012?

Jets head coach Rex Ryan has never been one to censor himself. Upon his hiring in 2009, Ryan said he wasn't brought in to kiss New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick's rings and has issued declarations of Super Bowl appearances. After missing the playoffs in 2011, however, Ryan may tone down his words in 2012 for the sake of the players. "I thought it would put pressure on me," Ryan told WFAN radio Thursday. "Clearly, when you have a team that went to back-to-back championship games, what else is there to go for? It’s Super Bowl or bust. Well, we busted. When I guaranteed we’d get it done this year, I thought the bull’s-eye was going on my back. That’s where I wanted to place it. What I didn’t anticipate was, I put added pressure on our players when I wanted to put the pressure on myself. That’s something I obviously have to learn from."

Ryan is just NOW figuring out that their arrogant, cocky predictions of winning every week and winning the super bowl is putting pressure on the team?

you know, as each year goes by, i genuinely believe that i could do a much better job of coaching an nfl team than a lot of these guys. A lot of them really aren't that bright. Many aspects of the position I would need to lean on smart people but some of the in-game decisions and motivational tactics that these guys use are just fucking stupid and I know I could make better decisions ....................
