| Saints Defenders Never Formally Told Of Gregg Williams Departure | | |
Several New Orleans Saints defenders said Tuesday they have not been given any formal word from defensive coordinator Gregg Williams or the franchise about Williams reported departure for the St. Louis Rams. The players conceded they were perplexed by the situation. Linebacker Jonathan Casillas and defensive end Cameron Jordan both said they learned Williams was likely headed to St. Louis from television reports. Casillas said some - though he did not include himself - may have hard feelings both from Williams leaving New Orleans and from the manner in which they discovered the development. Defensive end Will Smith, one of the unit's two captains, said Williams did not discuss his future plans with the players during a meeting Monday.
