The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have requested and received permission to interview Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Tom Clements for their head coaching vacancy, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Clements is expected to interview with the Buccaneers later this week. A Heisman Trophy candidate quarterback at Notre Dame in the 1970s before embarking on an NFL and Hall of Fame CFL playing career, Clements has coached quarterbacks for the New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers and spent two seasons as the Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator before joining the Packers in 2006. Clements was also a candidate for the Penn State coaching job and is reportedly among the list of Packers assistant coaches who may be brought in by former Packers personnel executive Reggie McKenzie to interview for the Oakland Raiders head coaching position.
