49ers Defeat Saints 36-32 In Wild Playoff Thriller
Posted By: SteveRobWhatever 01-14-2012 , 08:20 PM

Vernon Davis' 14-yard touchdown reception with 9 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter lifted San Francisco to a wild 36-32 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Saturday. The Saints took the lead on a 66-yard touchdown reception by Jimmy Graham with 1:37 remaining. Alex Smith's 28-yard touchdown run 34 seconds earlier had lifted San Francisco to a 29-24 lead. San Francisco, which took advantage of five New Orelans' turnovers, built an early 17-0 lead but had to rally back after the Saints took at 24-23 lead on a Darren Sproles touchdown reception with 4:02 left in the fourth quarter. The 49ers will play the winner of Sunday's New York Giants-Green Bay game in the NFC championship on Jan. 22.

Great game, I haven't gone through the roof like that since the last "Catch". After the Graham TD I didn't think there was any chance in hell that Alex fucking Smith of all people could put it on his back and drive for the game winner with <2 minutes on the clock, which made the final outcome all the more exciting. In the 80's/90's in games like this you always KNEW that Montana and Young could do it. I've never once in his entire career felt like Alex could. Fucking amazing, I'm still high from it. Wish it was the weekend already, we are HOSTING THE NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. THE ROAD TO THE SUPER BOWL GOES THROUGH SAN FRANCISCO ONCE AGAIN.
