Bengals RB Cedric Benson Unhappy With The Way He Was Used In Offense

Bengals running back Cedric Benson will become a free-agent in March. He is also unhappy with the way he was used this season in the Bengals offense because he shared the workload with Bernard Scott. “I don’t know what the future’s going to hold. You never know going into being a free agent, things like that,” Benson told Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer. “I don’t have any closed doors, so we’ll see what the future holds.” Even offensive coordinator Jay Gruden acknowledged that trying to keep both Benson and Scott happy was a difficult balancing act. “From a consistency standpoint you’d like to get Bernard more carries, more touches and Cedric has earned the right to be a feature back in this offense the last couple of years,” Gruden said. “The more you give it to Bernard the more you’ve got Cedric over there scratching his head and not real happy. Really, to me, on a good football team nobody should worry about who’s scoring or who’s getting the ball so long as the team is moving.” Said Benson of the offensive changes: “I wasn’t a big fan of it. Granted I don’t make those decisions or calls and I have to find a way to make it work. It was something they started soon after the first game. There was a vision where they saw the offense going. I may not like it or agree with it but I’ll make it work if given the opportunity.”

After all the silly immature BS Ced has pulled, personally I think this smacks more of a competitor wanting the rock more than a whiny bitch making excuses. Seems to be more about the money than the production.

Benson had decent #s on a team with a run of the mill OL. It's not like Scott was setting the Cincy world on fire....

Ced Benson has been complaining like Carson and Chad, that got them the boot outta town. He needs to chill the team played well and made the playoffs

Big difference to me is that CB actually took the lumps & produced, then sounded off.

Carson & Johnson whined while sitting on past laurels.

Shit doesn't fly with me, I guess...

Yeah Cedric Benson has had a few 1,000 rushing yard seasons with the Bengals but he's still a piece of shit in my book and always will be.

exactly. the bengals have a knack for bringing in selfish, non-team players ........... housh, ocho, cedric, palmer, pacman, etc.

i would think at a certain point they will wake up and realize if they are ever going to win a playoff game again, they need to build a team, not just a group of individual players.

Also, Benson turns 30 at the end of next season. So his playing days are numbered.

Not to mention he treated the football like a greased pig this year. He should just shut the hell up and not add to the question marks you'd have about him before you even get to his physical skills.
