Buccaneers Waiting For Giants Defensive Coordinator Perry Fewell?

One year after interviewing for four head coaching vacancies, Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell is drawing little interest on the coaching market but there is some speculation that could change very soon. The name of the Giants' 49-year-old defensive coordinator has been mentioned in reports as a possible candidate in Tampa Bay, where the Buccaneers are searching for a replacement for the fired Raheem Morris. So far, according to an NFL source, it is believed that the Bucs have not asked the Giants for permission to interview Fewell. The Bucs have already reportedly interviewed four candidates, including former NFL head coaches Mike Sherman, Marty Schottenheimer and Brad Childress. One year ago, Fewell was one of the hottest candidates on the NFL coaching carousel, interviewing with the Panthers, Titans, Browns and Broncos.

Perry deserves a HC job. He gets the most out of his players

i've always liked fewell, even way back early on with the bills. he now has a lot of nfl experience as an assistant/coordinator (over 10 years), so he is definitely 'ready'.

now, that doesn't guarantee the guy is going to be a success though. we've seen a lot of really good d-coordinators fail as head coaches but he probably deserves his shot at this point.

Fewell had the Bills playing well when he took over as HC.
