| Jets Coach Rex Ryan Sticks Up For QB Mark Sanchez Amid Criticism | | | During a conference call with reporters to introduce offensive coordinator Tony Sparano, New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan took a moment to come to the defense of starting quarterback Mark Sanchez. Earlier this week, the New York Daily News ran a report where anonymous players on the Jets ripped Sanchez for being lazy and coddled by the organization, as well as advocating for a trade that would bring in Peyton Manning. "I don’t know how many (players) don’t feel confident in Mark Sanchez," said Ryan. "I’ll tell you this, if it is not all of them, it’s the majority of (the players) that have a great deal of confidence in Mark Sanchez. And when he walks through that door, his head is going to be held high. There’s no question about it. That’s what I know." Defending Sanchez was the only approach Ryan could take on Friday, but that likely reinforces the belief the quarterback is coddled by the organization for those anonymous players that fed their quotes to the Daily News. Rooting and shipping those guys out of the building should be Ryan's next move. Source: Mac's Football Blog
