Although the Cowboys haven't officially announced the appointment of Jerome Henderson as the team's secondary coach, executive vice president Stephen Jones indicated Thursday the newest member of Rob Ryan's defensive staff is already in the fold. "I think he is going to be a really nice coach for us," Jones said in an interview with Norm Hitzges on The Ticket (1310-AM). Henderson, 42, oversaw the secondary in Cleveland the past three seasons and worked with Ryan during his first two years with the Browns. Jones hopes Henderson will help spark improvement within a unit that performed poorly in 2011. The Cowboys were ranked No. 23 in pass defense, surrendering an average of 244.1 yards per game. Against Dallas, quarterbacks posted a passer rating of 88.4 -- the eighth-highest in the league. "Fans, anybody could see that we have struggled, in particular on the back end of our defense," Jones said. "We have to improve ourselves. That makes it two years running now we have struggled. We have to get better back there."
