LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne will announce that he is leaving school a year early and will enter the 2012 NFL Draft, The Associated Press reports. The 6-foot, 185-pound Claiborne has started 26 of 33 games and has 95 tackles and 11 interceptions. Claiborne led the Tigers with six interceptions in 2011, earning first-team All-American honors and winning the Jim Thorpe Award, which is presented the nation's top defensive back. Claiborne averaged nearly 25 return yards on his 11 interceptions and averaged 25.4 yards on 24 kick returns during his career, returning one kick 99 yards for a touchdown in 2011. Claiborne is projected to be a Top 10 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the average value of contracts for players chosen in the Top 10 of the 2011 NFL Draft was $15.67 million, all of which was fully guaranteed.

Brockers declared too....could go very very high himself, may be the first DT off the board, i like him a lot more than still. A 34 team could fall in love with him as a 5 tech, just a monster against the run

let's not get crazy. Peterson is a great player. He offers special teams value Claiborne doesn't.

not quite. a little better of a cover corner, little more pro ready...but better? meh

peterson is an elite athlete, elite return man, and potential through the roof at both CB and S. Hes gigantic for a corner and not quite as polished as mo but you cant compare them without recognizing how different they actually are

not bad for a receiver that changed positions his freshman year. He is pretty good but not as good as Peterson only because of the return skills. He is decent in his own right just not as good as Peterson. But you can't go wrong with him. Glad he is coming out this year. You never hear anything bad about Claiborne.

Great assessment, even though like Mo more as a player there is def difference in ceilings of these guys. I expect Mo to have a less penalized and less noticed rookie year but will have more success short term. He's gonna be very very good for a long time. PP could be great
