With Green and Simpson as the starters, the Bengals had a duo that could stretch the field, Green was tied for the league lead in catches over 35 yards with 11, but Simpson struggled. According to Pro Football Focus, of the 115 players who played at least 25 percent of their team’s offensive snaps at WR, Simpson was graded the fourth worst. His nine dropped passes were tied for seventh but he did have 50 receptions for 725 yards and four touchdowns. It is likely that the Bengals will bring in a veteran during free agency, one candidate could be Braylon Edwards, who was released by San Francisco last month after being sidelined most of the season due to injuries.
