| Vikings Insist There Will Be $67M In Additional Costs To Build On Metrodome Site | | | In a letter to Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak and Council President Barbara Johnson, Minnesota Vikings Owner/President Mark Wilf reiterates the team's position that the Arden Hills site is the best location for a new stadium and reports that there would be $67 million in additional costs to build a new stadium on the current Metrodome site. According to the Vikings, building a new multi-use facility on the current Metrodome site would mean the team would play three seasons at TCF Bank Stadium at the University of Minnesota. The smaller stadium capacity, sponsorship space and amenities would result in $12.3 million in annual losses per season, or $37 million over three-year period. To meet NFL requirements for three seasons, the club would have to make $11 million in stadium upgrades. The team would also need to add $19 million in parking upgrades to meet NFL Program requirements. Source: Mac's Football Blog
