Recently fired Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo, who rose to prominence as the Giants’ defensive coordinator during their 2008 Super Bowl run, is one of four candidates to replace Fred Pagac as Vikings defensive coordinator, according to CBS’ Clark Judge. Spagnuolo would be a home-run hire for the Vikings, so after trying to find out more on this possibility today, here are a few things to keep in mind. The Vikings currently don’t have an interview scheduled for Spagnuolo, who reportedly is considering taking a year off. Coach Leslie Frazier and Spagnuolo grew a close relationship from their days as Philadelphia assistants, and they still keep in touch often. The Eagles will be tough to beat for the services of Spagnuolo, who could take over a more championship-ready defense and reunite with Andy Reid.
