With a deadline of Jan. 12 looming for stadium proposals, a Star Tribune story said that the Vikings are being told that their preferred Arden Hills site is not workable. It is believed that the proposal is struggling to find financing. "A partner without money isn't a partner, it's a friend," said one source close to the talks. "The Vikings are coming to realize that Arden Hills might not work."
