Oklahoma State WR Justin Blackmon To Turn Pro

Following Monday night's 41-38 overtime win over the Stanford Cardinal in the 2011 Fiesta Bowl, Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon declared his intention to enter the 2012 NFL Draft. "I think I am," Blackmon said when asked if he was ready to make an announcement. "I think I'm going to go ahead and enter the draft and see what happens after that. " Blackmon's junior season concludes with 121 receptions for 1,522 yards and 18 touchdowns. In 38 games in Stillwater, Blackmon caught 251 passes for 3,564 yards and 40 touchdowns. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound wideout will surely be Top 10, if not Top 5 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

one of the best games on all day. and not a single SEC team playing. I still say OSU should be playing on the 9th. That would be a fucking hell of a game. I love the SEC but fuck invite others to the sacrifice. Bama had their chance. If we would have lost I would have been the first to say someone else take a shot at them. my plan would be better

Well this was a no-brainer even before tonight, but now he's a top 10 lock if not top 5.

i see a lot of greg jennings and hakeem nicks in him....hes not quite the prosepct dez was at OSU but not a bad one....top 5 lock, meh....hes not a julio/AJ/calvin type WR....i still have floyd over him personally but i think he could easily be the first WR taken...jacksonville perhaps?

am i the only one that finds it refreshing that this dude made up his mind and wasn't afraid to voice his plans right after the game instead of the traditional bullshit answers we typically get stuck with?

Julio/AJ/Calvin type?

There is a Calvin type and then everyone else.

He fits perfectly being grouped with AJ and Julio. I'd take him as a pro prospect over those two guys, no hesitation. And I'd take Blackmon over Floyd, too. Not by much, but if it's my pick I take Blackmon.

i mean if im ranking WR prospects im going

1 Calvin Johnson
2 The rest

but still you have calvin who should have gone #1 overall and then you have several guys like Julio and AJ that were easily top 5 graded players, thats just speaking recently i would include Andre Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald in there too.

No way in hell id take blackmon over AJ and Julio though, they were rare prospects at the position and as pro ready as they came (even moreso than calvin was, just not quite the physical dominance)...blackmon is the top (or 2nd, depending on how floyd times and measures imo) in a pretty weak class....imo hes not as good as nicks, dez, or britt and they went near the tail end of round 1 but nicks/britt also had wayyyy more competition with harvin, DHB, maclin, and crabtree all going in front of them (even though DHB was an abortion of a top 7 pick i included him anyway)

anyway i like blackmon, just not sure about all this top 5 lock stuff....even though the rams may pull the trigger on him out of desperation

Blackmon and Floyd are 1 or 2 depending on what you want at WR...then theres not much, i hate ashlon jeffrey and then you have wright, fuller, toon, mcnutt, broyles, jones....just a bunch of meh 3rd round prospects

He is by far no question the best WR in the draft. Floyd is overrated imho. He is too damn soft.

Blackmon is a bit of a diva and that scares me but I think part of it is him being a young kid. I think he could grow out of it.

Blackmon is not an elite prospect at least too me. Sure he is a top 15 pick but I'm not really into taking WR's early, especially in the top 5 unless you already have the cornerstones (QB, LT, DE/ 3-4 OLB, and CB).

He has great athletic ability and size. What concerns me is his focus and maturity.
