| 49ers Clinch No.2 Seed After Hanging On To Beat Rams 34-27 | | | The San Francisco 49ers have clinched the No. 2 seed in the NFC Playoffs with a 34-27 win over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. San Francisco entered Week 17 in control of their own playoff destiny, able to clinch a first-round bye with a win over the last place Rams to stave off the New Orleans Saints, who blew out the Carolina Panthers 45-17. The 49ers built a 34-13 lead with 6:30 to play after a one-yard run by Anthony Dixon but the Rams would battle back, with quarterback A.J. Feeley connecting with Brandon Lloyd for a 36-yard touchdown with 4:49 to play. The Rams recovered an onside kick and a 35-yard pass interference penalty set up a one-yard touchdown run by Cadillac Williams. The Rams forced a three-and-out, but their comeback fell short after Feeley injured his right ankle and backup Tom Brandstater tossed a pair of incomplete passes. Source: Mac's Football Blog
