| Vikings Have Until Nov. 24th To Activate WR Sidney Rice From PUP List | | | While it remains uncertain if Sidney Rice will return to play Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, there is one sure thing when it comes to the situation involving the wide receiver. The Vikings have until a week from Wednesday to activate Rice from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, or he will have to remain on that list for the remainder of the season and won't be eligible to play in 2010. Rice, who underwent hip surgery in late August, started practicing on Nov. 3, opening a three-week window in which he could practice but did not have to be placed on the 53-man roster. That exemption will end Nov. 24. There was some feeling that Rice was going to play last Sunday against Chicago but the Vikings' leading receiver from a year ago felt enough soreness after a week of practice that he didn't feel comfortable giving the go-ahead.
